Your
unique footprints
embed
deeply into the thick soft flexible soles.
In Traditional High
Quality Handmade Shoes, the soles are made
from Ordinary Leather tanned in
Oak
Bark. I do not like
it; it is too hard.
The leather I use for the soles of my
Shandals®, Shoes and Rope
Soled Slippers
was not designed for Shoemaking at all.
I use very special leather tanned specifically
for the high specifications
of Hydraulic Engineering to create oil seals under high pressure and
heat.
It is unusually thick, flexible, and soft.
In my classic Original design I use not
one, but two layers in the soles.
I protect
them from wear with thin, flexible, very hard wearing rubber compound
soles and heels.
Because the leather soles are soft and
thick, your unique footprints embed into the double layer of soft supple
leather.
They become the Mirror Image of your Soles,
a Symbiotic Sculpture
of your feet, incredibly comfortable and flexible - a real pleasure
to walk
in and fabulous to dance in.
Another kind of sole I have recently introduced
is a sole that has more grip than the Topy soles. I call them
Dinky Tyre Soles. I use one layer of leather as two layers starts
to make them a little heavy.
I like both kinds of soles.
I like the single leather soles for my
Shandals with the Dinky Tyre soles as they are lighter and more
flexible.
And prefer the thicker double soles protected
with Topy soles and heels for my shoes.
